My first blog post here after a busy lead up to Christmas and then for some much needed down-time.
In November and December I completed a number of commercials for both online adverts and radio. In December, I had the pleasure to work with a talented group of voice actors for a remote online table read of a script for a brand new animated film. It was a fun challenge (using a lot of different highlighters on the iPad!) as I needed to perform 14 different voices!
The film script was such a vibrant and interesting one to read/listen to, I'll be excited to see how it develops.
In the last few weeks I've been working on my Accent Reel and hope to have it ready to post on the website in the new week or so. On there I will have a number of British Regional accents and some international accents too. Having a brilliant Voice tutor at Drama School who specialised in dialects and accents was a real help and I've run a number of Accent workshops myself over the years. However, it's always good to brush up and go back to Native Speakers to ensure it's sounding truly authentic. I'm fortunate I have a diverse range of friends from so many different areas who I could reach out to.
What's the accent you struggle with the most? Is there one, other than your own, you always nail?
